When An'Draea sings, people listen.

The skill, the sincerity, and the anointing are all unmistakable attributes of this Washington, D.C. native’s artistry and ministry. Yet she is not just an anointed psalmist, An’Draea also wears the hats of songwriter, arranger, musician, producer, and praise and worship leader. She is the quintessential gospel artist of the future.

An’Draea’s journey began as a teenager, where she was introduced to music in a performing arts program in Maryland. There she studied private voice, focusing on classical music at the advice of all her teachers. She excelled in this area and greatly enjoyed performing classical music. But being an R&B and gospel lover, An’Draea also sang in an R&B singing group on the side. The group, “Essence of Soul”, performed in local talent shows, clubs and churches. She went on to win various vocal competitions until she finally earned a full voice scholarship to Morgan State University. She continued to study classical music at Morgan, but never lost her love for other vocal stylings.

As an undergrad student at Morgan An'Draea studied under the legendary Dr. Nathan Carter and did solo work with the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Kurt Masur (New York Philharmonic Orchestra), and Bobby McFerrin. She was often the soloist of choice with various major orchestras nationwide and abroad. Her exposure to all genres of music including classical, jazz, gospel, and pop has shaped her composition and vocal style. She has done background vocals for great artists like Richard Smallwood, Ce-Ce Winans, Karen Clarke-Sheard, and Kim Burrell.
After receiving Christ as Lord in her last year of college, An’Draea began writing worship songs. Her unique style synergizes traditional gospel, soul, jazz, and her hometown indigenous style: go-go. Her vocals range from soft and sultry, to powerful and explosive. Expressive lyrical passages eloquently overlaid on urban grooves distinguish her from any other artist, producing a style called Contemporary Christian Soul.

An'Draea forewent an opportunity to pursue her classical career to follow her heart and her call to ministry. She now serves as worship leader and music minister for Tabernacle of Praise Ministry in Landover Hills, Maryland. She has founded Saul2Paul Project, a ministry that will use music as a tool to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Lately, An’Draea has been honing and perfecting her craft in preparation for her destiny- to call people to Christ through music!
