THIS CD WAS INCLUDED IN THE 10 BEST CDs of 2005 with BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN , THE WALLFLOWERS , AND JAMES BLUNT! bellevue cadillac's 7th CD is a concept album. if Picasso had been a songwriter instead of a painter, he may have used love as his muse, and showed 13 different sides all on one canvas (cd). this cd moves through all kinds of love: puppy,unrequited,twisted,one nite stands,love of power, of family, of the game, love of country, all using different characters. there is a deposed nigerian king in "ja ja opobo" a caribbean reggae, "the mouse" a prize fighter in the guinness book of world records, "mafia" "soviets" and an "american president" all using Havana as a mistress, in Havana Moon, and a key hole peeper who keeps killing off the competition so his "girlfriend" can become a star.you'll hear motown, beatles,blood sweat and tears, paris cafe, latin rhythm, surf, harmonies, melodies, soaring saxaphone, stinging guitar and the artwork itself is a masterpiece. there's some big band arrangements, and ukulele and melodica all enhancing the characters in the songs. if you like elvis costello, randy newman, paul simon, dylan, and lyle lovett this one's for YOU!
