Akimbo d' Abuto has played, recorded and produced music from Nantucket to South Carolina where he currently resides and creates his unique sound. Lars Wentzel plays guitar and records at his studio located somewhere in Maine. Individually, Akim is the mysterious funk meister and glued in the pocket bassist/percussionist. Lars is the guitarist obsessing over cord progressions from which his melodic riffs dart out of. Together, Akimbo and Lars have created a brooding yet thoughtful arrangement of tunes that catch the listener in a subtle and passionate way. Ultimately, like the title Esperando implies, this is a CD about the waiting and hoping that gives life it's sense of anticipation and the unexpected that is both joyful and sad.
