ABOUT THE MUSICIANS: Bill Alkire's musical experience is rooted in swing, bebop and beyond. His influences stem from many hours of listening to jazz greats such as Dexter Gordon, Paul Desmond, Chet Baker, Art Pepper, Jerry Bergonzi, John Coltrane, Hank Mobely, Lee Konetz, Miles Davis and Stan Getz. Although his music was shaped by the influence of these great players, his voice is uniquely his. When asked to describe his most memorable musical experiences, Bill cites sharing the stage with Stan Getz and performing and recording with his son Jeff in California and Australia. In his words, "It's a pleasure sharing my love for jazz with my son who has toured with Ray Charles and performed and recorded with Charlie Haden, Bobby Shaw, Joe Farrell and many other fine musicians."
