(1991)...the first single off the long anticipated album legalized dope leaped onto the billboards pop chart and remained for several weeks moving into the top 5 new singles in the country...legalized dope was banned from mtv at the time for being too controversial and was misunderstood by mtv executives but the song legalized dope gave a positive message of knowledge is dope and were dealing it to you and was embraced by bet and black music radio who "got" the meaning of the song and made it there personal mission to deliver a much needed anthem of hope at a time when black communitys where being flooded with crime and drugs..

(1992)...with the music video in heavy rotation,"legalized dope" struck so much of a cord with the nation that soulcat was featured on dateline/nbc where he was interviewed and explained the songs message in depth "were dealing knowledge as dope in the hoods with the same style,hussle and ruthlessness as real drugdealers"---(soulcat said)..

(1995-2004)...$oulcat began to receive offers to write by other artist who took note of his creative style and innovative songwriting ability such as paula abdul,the def dames,all 4 one,college boys,scat cat,coldjimmy,the desert pharroz,reba jackson and many others who may not want it to be known and countless other emcee's who flatter soulcat by copy cattin" his stlye or counterfiet hooks or lyric's they heard soulcat say...(break bread)...

(2005-today)...soulcat remains on the cutting edge of hip hop,trendsetting a new form of funk and rap called "pimp hop musik"
