The ubiquitous prejudgment of the epidemic of inadequate Hip Hop in the South is now defunct. Euphonetiks, a Hip hop crew from New Orleans, is changing the omnipresent view of Southern based hip hop. With members and affiliates from North Louisiana, Washington D.C., Minnesota, and Philly, the diversity among this crew is unparalleled by any other crew. Each member appends his own style to the crew to collectively concoct a "Syncretic Excellence."

Euphonetiks spawned from a vision by Dillard University's own Pleon and Lyrikill, the leaders of the crew. After what seemed an incessant turbulence and instability within the crew with other members in and out, the two picked up Zach, a producer/ emcee from D.C. The chemistry, although composed of different styles, gave the Euphonetiks "syncretic" sound that meshed perfectly.

The three began collaborating with other emceez within reach. For example, Pleon founded the Caterpillar Village, after fate caused an incredible collision between him, Primevyl (Shreveport) and Akira (Minnesota). The three of them bring a more abstract approach to paint a mosaic of coping with life's hardships.

Lyrikill and Zach, together combine to bring back the original boom-bap that has been lacking in Southern hip hop. Zach (20) has been producing since the age of 13, and his incredible sound is evident of the dedication to the culture.

Pleon and Lyrikill (congriis) are probably the most different in style, but have managed find the "0" on the pH balance scale. Pleon, more on the abstract side of things, speaks of his experiences in an obscure manner.
"I jostle through a hostile forest and forced a tree to leave/ just to manifest my push and pull of nature's sleeve."

The production of the "syncretic" sound is handle by Zach, Lyrikill and Mr. (E)laborate, Pleon's alter ego. Confidential about what equipment is used to create the music, the "Euphies" believe that the extraordinary quality of the music is what's important.

Right now, Euphonetiks is secreted in a rift of the slowly emerging New Orleans underground hip hop scene. The toughest thing for the Euphonetiks crew/ Sick Muse Entertainment is that they are forced to dwell in a region where quality hip hop is deficient. Pleon says, "the music here is exactly 1.267895 light years behind what it takes to even create a semi-quality product. It is difficult for us because we are based out of New Orleans, a place where the quality-diluting bounce music has bled into a genre that we've respected for years, and none of us are from here. How 'bout them apples? However, people who do take the time to actually crack open the CD case are always baffled by our 'sick muse'."

Euphonetiks has many-a-project up their sleeves. Sick Muse Entertainment is operated independently by Lyrikill and Pleon, and as they gain more recognition there's no doubt people will appreciate their "syncretic excellence."
