The son of Linda Craig, born Joe Ross-AKA 44 (foe-foe). 44 is the youngest
of six children, five of them sisters. AKA 44 is one of the two solo artists
released under Third Eye Soldiers. He says, "It all started when we use to
rapping during the fifth grade, with some friends at breakfast time". (You
know, the spoon and fork band.) "I always been a fan and participated in
freestyle rap". After high school 44 graduated from Dunbar High in lubbock
TX, and attended recording school for a year at South Plains college in
Levelland TX.
44's Musical influences are all the old school rappers from Sugar Hill
gang and up. Today's influences are Tupac, Fat Pat, Pimp C, ESG, Too
Short, DJ Quick, E-40 and more.
The title of his first debut album is "Adventures of .... Ghetto
Superstar". In relation to the title, every song is attempting to capture a
storyline or an everday adventure of living the ghetto life of a hustler, a
playa, and as a young black male in the streets.
44 is the youngest of six children, five of them sisters. He also has a
couple of shows under his belt, including an opening act for Bone Thugs
and Harmony.
