Awkward Landing is a Boston based hip-hop trio consisting of emcees J-Ring, Nothin Normal, and producer Pete Productions. Inspired heavily by artists of the golden era and the west coast underground, Awkward Landing combines east coast lyricism with west coast style. Their influences include Organized Konfusion, Freestyle Fellowship, Run DMC, Ras Kass, and Rakim to list a few. Mixing braggadocios shit talking and innovative wordplay Awkward Landing provides an alternative to the cookie cutter bullshit that saturates the radio. Utilizing their contrasting personalities emcees Normal and J-Ring draw on diverse topics for their music providing insights into every day life that every person can relate to.
Awkward Landing has performed alongside a wide variety of national hip hop acts such as Run D.M.C., Rahzel, Tonedeff, Ikon the Mic King, JS-1, and Mix Master Mike as well as local Boston artists such as Ed OG, Kreators, Radix, Shango Axe, and Clinton Sparks. Whether brought up in the streets or on the back roads of suburbia Ay El offers something for every hip hop listener. To put it simply, Awkward Landing is making the music they want to hear.
