Brooklyn's own & BLOOD-bought Recording$' Chief Executive Officer/President/Artist, A-LEX-ander The GREAT aka LEXicon/LEXtacy, has finally released his first solo LP, "...Vol. II - Lyrical LEXicon: The Premixes!". Named after the 2hr, 40+ track, self-produced mix-tape released in 2000, "The Amalgamation, Vol. 1", LEX is destined to reach the mainstream with this one.
LEX considers this to be his first solo album, because unlike the mix-tape (which was a compilation of various underground, semi-known, and notorious artist from across the globe), "...Vol. 2..." has few features. LEX shows off his many writing talents by the diversity distributed throughout this CD. LEX is determined to make you stop playing the wall, dance, laugh, and actually feel good about doing so with the witty lyrics and up-tempo beats of "The Premix!" and "Coach's Anthem" (labeled as the party joints of the CD). LEX flexes lyrical skill and addresses haters & non-believers on tracks such as "What Y'all Really Want?" and "A-Bomb-a-Nation". You will come to find out why he is named LEXtacy with the song "I Wantcha' Luv" (for the ladies). On "(718) - (732)" LEX reps his 'hood/city and acquires the lyrical content and vocals of New Jersey representative, and long-time crony, Frostie (The FlowMan) to do the same. And trust, they literally go to work on this track! LEXicon also defines himself (the pain & gain) lyrically, spiritually, physically, and mentally throughout songs such as "LifeTimes", "The G.R.E, A.T.", "Ready or Not?", and "Trials, Tribulations, Tragedies & Triumphs". And last, but certainly not least, he has "Who Would've...?", a dedication to his (at the time) unborn child, for all the parents out there.
Overall, LEX delivers a classic for anyone who appreciates lyrical skill with everyday topics. Besides all the mix-tapes, shows, and rap battles throughout Kings County (Brooklyn), you get an understanding as to why he is crowned and sits on the throne of East New York! Enjoy your LEXperience!
