The background of Alley Kat is a combination of tragedy, triumph and understanding. His childhood was anything but normal; experiencing life from several perspectives. One, from a father who had spent the better years of his life in prison and the other from a mother who always saw Alley Kat as the past she couldn’t confront. Alley Kat was left to learn things the hard way. Taking it to the streets, Alley Kat began selling CDs out of his trunk and grabbing the mic anywhere they’d let him. As we know, our society is complex, and everyone has a fucked up past. Not only does Alley Kat confront that past - he makes an effort to educate the misled, and shape the future. With one album under his belt [Christopher Smart – The life and times of] and his second on the way [Tainted Metropolis], it’s obvious that this kat will be around for a while.
