Amy Bennett has been singing in front of public audiences since she was old enough to talk.
Her love of music developed early, and her natural talent was evident as she sang in church as a soloist and as a member of the praise and worship team. She performed at school functions in State Chorus, Church Ensemble as well as solo performances. She even had opportunities to sing for her community and had an audience with the Governor of Maryland .
Her professional career began when she started touring with the southern gospel group, 'Jordan'. She had the privilege of singing lead on their first single release, 'When I See the Lamb', which landed them a spot on the Southern Gospel radio charts. Jordan opened for several top name groups including The Dixie Melody Boys, The Perry's , The Wilburn's, and Carol Robertson. Amy along with her husband Jackie, moved to Nashville in 1995 to further pursue her music ministry. As a member of the world renowned Christ Church Choir, Amy has participated in Choir album projects, has sang back up for Lee Greenwood, LuLu Roman, and various other artists, and has performed on Bill Gaither's Homecoming Video series. Most recently, Amy made a guest appearance on the internationally known, Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).
Amy's ministry took a giant step forward with the release of her self-titled debut project. This collection of songs showcases Amy's vocal diversity with a wide range of musical styles. "This mix was intentional," says Amy. " I wanted to be able to affect all age groups- not just a select few." Producer George Hairr, who has worked with gospel greats Bill Gaither, The Martin's and Karen Peck and New River, brings his experience to the project, as does Dove Award winner Michael English, putting his vocal touch on the tune 'Family Tree'.
Amy Bennett's plan for the future is to minister anywhere the Lord opens the doors for her to sing, whether it be at a women's retreat, a city concert hall, or your local church. Her sweet spirit will win you over, and turn your heart toward God!
