Singer-songwriter from Madison, Wisconsin, fronting the Americana band, Tin Ceiling. We have made appearances on Wisconsin Public Radio, local television and Madison music clubs. This gospel album is a solo work. As a kid I attended an old country church on a dirt road in Northern Wisconsin, and got my start on piano and vocals there. Recently my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. I thought it was time give them something back for all the love and support they have given me over the years. I dedicated "That Gospel Line" to them and to the people in the church I grew up in. This record has a Nashville flavor, and in it I also pay homage to the late great Johnny Cash. My friend and bandmate Ellie Erickson played lap steel guitar and mandolin. I did the vocals, piano, organ, and acoustic guitar. This record is for anyone who loves old time gospel music, creaky wood floored churches, the musty smell of a 1920's upright piano, Hank Williams on AM radio, and the timeless soul of Amazing Grace.
