Bill was born into a Navy family, stationed in Portsmouth, Virginia, the first of six children. He was brought up in the Southern Baptist Church and gave his life to the Lord at an early age.
When he was eight years old, Bill started guitar and piano lessons, and could often be found on Sunday mornings after church service, in his garage, "preaching" (in his father's coat and sunglasses) to his younger brother. But in his teens, Bill began to stray from his Christian upbringing and started down a dangerous road ...a road that almost cost him his life.
Having played in bands throughout high school and college, Bill went on to work the club circuit in the Boston area, but his talent as a singer/songwriter was overshadowed by his fall into drug and alcohol abuse. By the time he'd finished a hitch in the Marine Corps, Bill was a young husband and father on the brink of losing everything. It was at this point in his life, frightened and alone, that Bill called out to God, and life began again.
Through the support of family and friends, Bill found his way to an evangelical church and recommitted his life to Jesus Christ, eventually becoming a lead vocalist on the Sunday Worship Team, as well as teaching Sunday School and participating in a men's prayer group. Six years ago, Bill began a songwriting partnership with Bette Kron at Nightsong Music, which resulted in the November 2000 release of his premier album, "God's Own Man", and the 2002 release of Bill's second album, "BareBones".
Bill's music is as authentic and direct as the man himself. Whatever the age group or ministry setting, Bill connects, inviting the listener to become a participant in the journey of faith. With an expanding ministry and a third album in the making, Bill's main objective is to share his music and testimony wherever the Lord leads.
It's been a long road back for Bill, his wife Eileen, and their three children. but along with the growing pains, God has given Bill a deep, honest and transparent faith that shines through clearly in the music he writes, the songs he sings, and the testimony of what God has done in the life of this everyday working man.
