"Angel of Hope"
On the morning of Dec.26/04, I turned on the television set and heard the news that Thailand was hit by a tsunami. My brother Wayne, who is a teacher in Thailand, was supposed to be on that beach, that morning. My first thought was "Please let my brother be okay." For one whole hour we didn't know and time was endless. Finally we got through on the telephone to talk to him. As I watched for days on end, my heart hurt and I was saddened by all the destruction. I felt I had to thank God and my Angel for looking after my wonderful brother. My prayers go out to all that were not as fortunate.
"Saskatchewan"
Over the months of 2004, my commitee has been planning a 2005 centennial celebration in Blaine Lake. I love everything about Saskatchewan, so I decided to write my own Saskatchewan celebration song. I wrote it from my heart and it's with great pride and joy, I share this song with all of you. I hope it comes alive for all who listen to it.
"The Caves In Our Hearts"
North of Saskatoon, along the North Saskatchewan river bank, dugouts were made into the hills with extensions of sod covered porches. These came to be known as the Doukhobor caves. This song portrays my thoughts and feelings of what it would have been like to be a part of the Doukhobor culture between 1899-1904.
God Bless,
Barbara Dee
