ARTIST INFORMATION

WHO ARE THEY? They are rhythmic, intelligent, melodic and funky souls! As native Western New Yorkers, Amanda Barton and Charity Nuse have spent years playing, writing, and refining their musical craft as singer-songwriters and music collaborators. Amanda & Charity is this duos side project as one source of their creative outlet outside their full-time touring band Big Leg Emma. Amanda Barton has been playing music professionally since age eight, getting her start with her family bluegrass band, The Blue Grasshoppers. Charity Nuse has also spent years developing and defining her skills as a musician and songwriter playing in other projects including the Cosmic Groove Project.

WHAT DO THEY SOUND LIKE? “Jefferson Airplane’s Grace Slick, and Janis Joplin fused together with hints of Ani DiFranco and Alison Krauss. Instrumentation includes Fiddle/Mandolin/Percussion/Guitar/Vocals

WHERE DO THEY FIT IN? These two hard working, committed musicians/songwriters can jam an evening of fun, rock, bluegrass, and flavors of funk that will get the party groovin’ in a small club, arouse the senses in an intimate coffee house atmosphere, move your soul in larger theatre venues, deliver an old fashion grass roots feel at major music festivals, and make you feel as one with them at small private parties and special events.
