Alison Block’s songwriting style is a unique combination of feminine edginess, down-home realism and twenty-something freshness. Block’s debut CD, Money and Sex, was released in April 2004 to rave reviews. Currently, Block performs throughout Southern California. She entertains her audiences not only with her music, but also with humor: she was a stand-up comedian for four years before turning her focus to music. With a BA in English from Duke University and a Master’s Degree in journalism from Boston University, Block considers herself a writer first and foremost and is always happy to collaborate with other artists and songwriters.
