Andrea Herold was born and raised in Switzerland. One of the main topics of her growing up was an inner feeling of not belonging. There was much strife in her family and she suffered from the ongoing unhappiness. At age 8 she started to study the piano and continued into her 20s. At 26 she left her country and moved to the US, seeking inner peace and healing, seeking to find her own unique song and life. She studied massage therapy, which she has been practicing for 17 years. She found great joy, singing in the Sonoma County Bach choir under Robert Worth. Her yearning for creating her own songs was awakened and she quit the choir to find her own melodies. To her chagrin, there was no inner music and after several years she rejoined the choir. She thought that she simply didn't have IT. After many years of therapies and healing, she found herself on a vision quest in Southern California. Her intent was to do more emotional healing of past experiences. She was surprised that life had something entirely different in mind. She realized that this was a time of celebrating her achievements and her wholeness. On the 3rd night of a fast alone in the desert, she woke up and received the task of writing songs to uplift children. It felt so right. For 3 years she worked on creating this CD, which contained the songs, she wishes she had heard as a little girl, when she had felt lonely and scared. They are songs of connection and love, songs of magic, songs of nature, a fun pirate song, and a song for religious tolerance. Her most important song is called "Secrets" which teaches the difference between good and bad secrets. It is a CD for children and for the child in every adult. These songs can uplift a heavy heart, especially when the listener sings along!
Andrea Herold lives in northern California with her wonderful husband, her son, and their 3 cats.
