katie quinlan grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and began her career in the professional children's choir the Colorado children's chorale. As she grew from a child to a woman she also grew to learn that the small city of boulder wasn't enough for her, and she headed west to Hollywood. well almost...she headed to USC's school of music.
At usc katie sang in the select women's choir by day and in the soulful roots/rock band deep fried by night, all the while honing her own singer/songwriter skills. However, two years into the gig, Deep fried members dave yaden and Jason gambill left the band to sign with atlantic records, playing in the musical outfit joe firstman.
Katie then decided to focus on her solo gig. The result is her debut record other side of the tracks. collaborating with fellow Trojans, eddie tibbals and costa roussos, katie was able to put together an eclectic group of songs ranging from classic country, to zeppelin-esque folk, to a trip-entrancing rendition of the inxs hit need you tonight.
Katie is currently playing the local club scene acoustically, and her cd is for sale via her website.
A very fresh addition to the local la music scene, katie quinlan promises to knock audiences back into a musical reality of strong acoustic guitar and vocal melodies.
