TechnoThoven ... not a claim of ability or accomplishment, merely an attempt to describe the sounds. Violins, chasing synthesizer patterns with traditional instruments of wood, and brass fading into effects of digital origin.
If there were a theme to this project, it might be “This day in History” with several of the titles referencing events in history that happened on the same date as the initial attempt at the songs, such as “The Parrot’s Beak” a part of Cambodia nicknamed during the Vietnam war. In some cases the historical events became a source of further inspiration, when the songs were revisited. Others were an expression of personal experiences, ranging from “DLH” written in the midst of loss, a few hours after learning of the death of a lifelong friend, to the triumphant “In the Presence of Mel”, a result of witnessing a joyous wedding, at the center, the bride, Melody.
