"COSMOLOGY" is AQi Fzono’s 5th Album, one of his representative works of the 90’s. When the original version was released in 1998, it was recognized as "one of the greatest albums in the history of the Spacey Electronic Instrumental Music comparable to Oxygene by Jean-Michel Jarre and Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfieldâ€. This is the digitally remastered 2006 version that AQi Fzono calls it as the "Composer’s Cut" (like "Director’s Cut" in film term), the definitive edition that the artist himself took command of the remastering process. Not only the sound has been remastered, but the 8-page full color booklet and the jacket design have also been totally renewed.
The sound that portrays "transcend time and space" fuses his world class arranging styles of Techno/Dance Music, Ambient, Progressive Rock and Classical Music. At the original release it was highly regarded as "a rare cross-fertilization of Electronic Music, Techno, Progressive Rock, Psychedelic Music and Classical Music" and "the sound that materializes as if you were viewing a monumental Sci-Fi trip movie".
A club hit "COSMOLOGY 5" and other tunes embracing elements of Ambient, Techno, Trance, IDM, Trip Hop, and Drum‘n’Base show AQi Fzono’s different approach to the current Club/Electronic Music sounds. While each track has a unique characteristic based on his original Sci-fi Music style, the album as a whole portrays a majestic and translunary world.
The massive sound that fuses Dance/Electronica Music and groundbreaking Progressive Music has established a new term in music, Sci-fi Music, and at the same time established a new genre "Symphonic Techno". The majestic synthesizer orchestration sound created with various analog and digital, vintage and cutting-edge synthesizers is phenomenal. This is also the world first album that featured Syntheremin, the original musical instrument invented by AQi Fzono, adding uncharted sounds.
In addition:
"COSMOLOGY" made it No.1 in the "monthly sales ranking" charts of one of the CD distributors in Japan two weeks after its release on April 22, and a month later today it’s still a chart-topper (28 May 2006).
-- "In my opinion, AQi Fzono’s "Cosmology" is one of the greatest albums in the history of the Spacey Electronic Instrumental Music comparable to Oxygene by Jean-Michel Jarre and Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield. It has an even bigger potential of appealing to the wider variety of listeners because of its psychedelic sense of color, modern Techno beats, and the cross-fertilization of many genres. This colossal virtual trip that lasts for 60 minutes can be enjoyed as a "sonic science fiction movie", and I would almost call it as an Electronic Music version of "2001: A Space Odyssey".
-- Kunihiko Ueno, Music Writer
-- AQi Fzono, a successor of the pioneers of Electronic Music, Progressive Rock, and Spacey Instrumental Electronic Music like Jean-Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Vangelis, Klaus Schulze, and Wendy Carlos, is also a promulgator of those pioneers in the 21st century which anyone can hear it in an array of his albums. If you like the music of those pioneers, you must like his music even more.
-- Jerry Morton Smith, Producer
-- "Minstrel of Diode", "Techno Wagner", "Kubrick of Electronic Music", "Godfather of Acid Music", "Pioneer of Symphonic Techno". Those are the synonyms used to describe AQi Fzono, but none of them really expresses his music entirely. His music has an iconic plot on an epic proportion, and is flooded with the high-caliber originality and ingenuity. To put it in a nutshell, AQi Fzono’s music is a true cosmopolitan Electronic Music that transcends national and cultural boundaries and goes beyond genres. "Cosmology" is his integrative masterpiece of the 90’s, and will go down in the history of both Electronic Music and Progressive Rock.
