"Andrea Bunch is an extremely thoughtful artist - careful in her choice of words and sounds. Her soulful vocal inflections encompass a wide range of styles, and she has the ability to merge them into a coherent single vision. Her samples and her voice ring with the same emotional intensity... she cares about each equally, and what you hear in her delivery is that everything is at stake. The final output is worth the work put into it - it is an amazing debut."
Scott Free - OutVoice

Andrea Bunch has just completed Numinous, her first independent release. Andrea's songs are hybrids of self-recorded samples, synths and drums united with acoustic guitar, piano and gorgeous vocal harmonies. Much of the album was recorded in Andrea's home over the last couple of years. She finished up at Joe Casssidy's (Assassins, Butterfly Child) Musicola studio, where he recorded Aaron Miller (Assassins) and Doug Brush (Las Guitarras de Espania, Kristin Shout) on drums, Nick Macri (Bobby Conn, Euphone) on bass, Barb Nashold on vocals, and Aerin Tedesco on tenor guitar and vocals.

Usually, Andrea performs as part of a duo with Aerin Tedesco. Their live shows swing from thunderous electronic rants to dramatic acoustic ballads. They have backed each other up at many Chicago venues, including The Old Town School of Folk Music's Folk and Roots Festival, Ladyfest Midwest, Estrojam, Midwest Womyn's Autumnfest, Grrlfest, Subterranean, Martyr's, Wise Fool's Pub, The Bailiwick Theatre, Scott Free's Homolatte, Uncommon Ground, The Heartland Café and many others

Bio:

Hi all! I grew up in Iowa, amidst the woods and farmlands. As a teenager, I attended Interlochen Arts Academy in the pines of Michigan and studied theatre. College was a wash of changes of mind and heart, I lived in LA and studied acting at USC, went to Iowa City and studied Biology and Psychology at U Iowa, and finally, earned a BA from Columbia College, where I studied music. After college, I toured with the Caravan Stage Barge, a theatre/ship, where I acted and performed my original music based on the script Red Tides. I am also a yoga teacher and environmentalist. I'm thrilled to be a new board member of the Chicago Recycling Coalition, "Big Life, Little Nutshell".
