Fr. Vern was raised in the Berkshire Hills of Massachusetts and was ordained in 1975. He has served as an associate priest at St. Mary's Westfield, taught at Cathedral High School and was Director of the Office of Worship of the Diocese of Springfield. In 1992 he was appointed as pastor of Blessed Sacrament Parish in Northampton and in 1996 he accepted the pastorate of St. Francis of Assisi in Belchertown, where he currently resides. His love of music began in grammar school when he began to study the piano and was a member of the Notre Dame Boys Choir.

Through the years he came to enjoy the music of the Broadway stage and has appeared in and directed many school productions. He loves to sing and was privileged to meet former President and Mrs. George Bush in Kennebunkport, Maine. For the past several summers he has performed for them and their guests at Walker's Point. Fr. Vern is a man who truly has "songs in his heart."

On this album, Fr. Vern is accompanied by pianist and good friend, Dennis Crow. Also a very talented artist who has released several of his own CDs.
