Brooks began his singing while in high school and in church.
Brooks joined a group called the Eljins this group was signed by Congress records, located in New York. Leroy Fan of the famous group, Ruby & the Romantics, produced the first recording entitled aretha-Mae"


Brooks joined the group James Barnes and the Agents,recording the hit single "Free AT Last" which was number one on the charts for fourteen weeks, this would launch his career.


In1976 brooks left the group,and formed 14thfloor Productions with partner Leroy Moore, they wrote and produced the song (America here it Comes Freedom Train)
the song was presented to the national freedom train foundation the song led the train across the country.
General Motors sponsored that.this truly started the entertainment journey that he is blessed to enjoy


In 1979 Brooks moved to California and was introduced to musical director Harold Jackson of the "Ink Spots" his audition was sucessful and Brooks was selected second tenor/lead with the group. he toured with the group until sept 3rd 1996 then retired to pursue another direction.


Brooks has been featured with several bands, these are some very talented musicians the first group pieces of eight travels the world doing jazz @ Blues festivals
The second band is called Chicago six a fantastic group
can be seen at the (Avi-Casino) new years.


Brooks is dedicated to bringing its fans the type of music all can enjoy,Brooks recently returned from Melbourne Australia, where he made a lot of friends and touched a lot of hearts.


Brooks has been contacted by Mr darron Moore the son of Brooks Partner, who has the company on the east coast very likely you will see the reunion of 14thfloor Productions.
