Cormac Kenevey is Ireland's leading new vocal talent, and has gained much respect on the Irish jazz scene. With a 7 piece band and new horn arrangements, This is Living is the biggest jazz vocal production ever to come out of Ireland.

Captivating Irish audiences with a unique blend of melodic phrasing and rhythmic ability, Cormac Kenevey has built a hard-earned reputation as a leading performer of the popular songbook. Though still in his twenties, his mature delivery and heartfelt interpretations display a great regard for those artists whom he cites as major influences. Mel Tormé, Frank Sinatra and Mark Murphy all feature, as well as the more contemporary influences of Kurt Elling and Al Jarreau.

This is Living, Kenevey's debut album, is a result of his collaboration with U.K. pianist, Phil Ware and his trio with whom Kenevey has developed a working live group. The repertoire chosen for the project is embellished by the newly written horn arrangements by Ware. As well as a selection of personal favourites, this collection features original compositions by Kenevey such as Just a Day which explores narration over vocal groove layering. The record boasts an accomplished production crew including Grammy® award-winning, mastering engineer, Bob Katz.

Starting to pop up at international jazz festivals (Marbella, Cork, Bray), this young artist is certainly a voice to watch. See him live if you can get the opportunity.
