Take a minute or so to take in this superb new release from Carter & Carter.
Every Minute contains words that will make you wish you hadn't, and also make you wish you had, and may even make you do it. These songs, all twelve of them will tear at your heart, make you grin and you will even giggle a little. I guarantee you will be moved by these songs.
You'll remember, you'll think about now and tomorrow all at the same time. She'll come to mind, so will he. Could be Mum, Dad or perhaps that child or sibling you don't see often enough. You will think of someone different every time you listen to these songs.
The emotions contained here need to be felt, you will hear the emotions in the songs and feel them in the words.

Seven of the twelve songs are written by Merelyn and David with some help from friends on a couple and a stand out performance from Darren Coggan a busy man himself.

MAKING THE MOST OF EVERY MINUTE is exactly how the country music hit-makers Carter & Carter approach every facet of their career and life. There really is no other word but SENSATIONAL to describe their achievements of over the past 3 years.
Everything that the highly talented team of David and Merelyn does has the positive stamp. Their songwriting is warm, personal, immensely listenable, and delivers some wonderfully memorable messages - four of their original hit songs Candlelight and Kisses, Lead Me Home, One Of Those Days & (Make The Most of) Every Minute are just some examples of song-crafting that will stand the inevitable test of time. Their music is uplifting, optimistic, honest and enduring.
Their live performances draw sell-out crowds - and the past year with tours throughout Australia, New Zealand and Norfolk Island were testimony to that fact - with their vibrant, refreshing approach and unstoppable energy that establishes an immediate rapport with the audiences.
By any yardstick, their track record is amazing. The debut album produced three national top 10 hits - You Were There rose to #6, Dance Away The Night stayed at #1 for 2 weeks and A Little Place Called Love made it back to back #1's. The inevitable "hard act to follow" adage certainly didn't apply to Carter & Carter with their next single Easy Making Love (from the new album Every Minute) completing a hat-trick of national #1's in their debut year in country music and earning them 2 Golden Guitar nominations at the 2002 Awards in Tamworth.
In April, Carter & Carter gave us another teaser - the single Candlelight And Kisses soared into the charts and reached #2 on the National Country Tracks Top 30, heralding two smash hits from their new album Every Minute which was released to a capacity crowd in Tamworth in January 2003. That song then went on to take out the Golden Guitar for Vocal Group or Duo of the Year, TSA songwriters Awards for Contemporary Song of the Year and Overall Song of the Year, and two Victorian Country Music Awards for Victorian Female Vocalist and Victorian Entertainers of the Year (for the second year running). What an amazing start to 2003 and the launch of their new album.
Throughout 2002 & 3 the awards and recognition just kept on coming as Carter & Carter took out the prestigious CMAA Achiever Award two years in a row for the Independent Entertainers of the Year, the 2002 Victorian Entertainers of the Year and then went on to win the APRA/AMCOS Independent Country Music Single of the Year, with Easy Making Love (2002), and Lead Me Home (2003), and Album of the Year with Every Minute (2003). They also created history by winning the Independent Artist of the Year for the 3rd year running at the Australian Independent Country Music Awards. It was the ultimate peer recognition of a fact that their fans were already well aware of - Australian country music was privy to something very, very special.
With their single Lead Me Home topping the National Country Tracks Top 30 and Music Network Country Airplay charts for 4 and 7 weeks respectively, their album 'Every Minute' in the top #10 Most Ordered Country Albums chart, a video clip on CMC, (Austar Ch. 29) and touring opportunities arriving from around Australasia, Carter & Carter had started another amazing year.
Their single 'Busy Man' was at #1 on the Music Network Country Airplay Chart for a staggering 30 weeks and also reached #1 on the Country Tracks Top 30 chart. Their latest single Dancing Shoes was released nationally in September and is currently at #1 with a bullet on the Country Tracks Top 30 and the Music Network Country Airplay Chart.
