1880 is the brainchild of Scotty "Boy" McCoy. Literally, the preacher's daughter's son, Scotty was born in the hills of east Tennessee and grew up watching his grandfather preach fire and brimstone while listening to the Baptist choir sing country-gospel.
When he decided to learn guitar, his daddy bought him the best teacher he could think of: a "how to" book and record by B.B. King.
During his high school years Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, & Van Halen caught his ear, and from that point on, he knew he had to rock.
Since the west was always calling, it was in L.A. that 1880 was formed.
Culling the psycho screaming guitar talents of Paul Jacques, the thunderous and professional precision bass work of Mike Reagan, and the spot-on, knee knockin', socks rockin' drumming of Dino DiBella, the boys have been tearing up the L.A. club scene and growing a devoted following of fans looking for a great band playing great songs!
