Steve Coen is one fine singer. He truly wants everyone to feel what he feels when he sings. He looked for songs a long time before he picked these for his first CD. He's one of those people that you like the minute you meet him...and you will get the same feeling just listening to his rich, smooth voice. Steve told me that he had never heard the song "Amazing Grace," so when he came across the lyric, he was so touched by it that he wrote his own music just so he could sing it. Take my word for it, his version of "Amazing Grace" is a one-of-a-kind, remarkable track.
As a writer of "Even Now," hearing Steve sing it, I still feel that same high level of excitement that I had when I first heard Conway Twitty's recording of it. The late Max Barnes, one of the best country songwriters ever, wrote "Rainbow and Roses." And the great Hugh Prestwood, whose hit songs have sold millions of records, wrote "Smoke In Her Eyes." Every song on this CD was produced by Grammy Award winning producer Brien Fisher and the pickers are some of Nashville's best. I recommend you do yourself a favor and buy a copy of this CD...you're going to like what you hear!
