Adam Kirtley was raised in rural Indiana, where he began playing guitar and writing his own songs as a teenager. In the mid 1990s he moved south and cut his teeth in Atlanta's vibrant folk scene, working briefly with Columbia Recording artist Shawn Mullins, and performing at Atlanta's famed folk venue, Eddie's Attic. In support of his first album, "Snowbound at the Kettle Moraine," Kirtley toured from the deep South to the far Northeast. As evidenced by his new album, "Cracked up to Be," Kirtley is more than just a simple folkie; his influences run the gamut from traditional Irish and bluegrass music to Delta blues, all if which he distills into his own uniquely original sound.
