Andrew Acosta is a northern-virginian guitarist and mandolin player who's been active in country-/rock and bluegrass bands for the past thirty(!)years. One of his most prominent mentors was the washington dc area bluegrass pioneer Benny Cain, of Benny and Vallie Cain and the Country Clan. Andrew's first CD, with the New Old-Time String Band, featured the award-winning old-time fiddle player Speedy Tolliver. They continue to perform regularly in the DC area. On his new CD, Time and Place, Andrew showcases his songwriting with elevan originals.
