In The Name Of Beethoven is the third and final instalment of Alex Masi's series of classically inspired music that started off with the very successful "In The Name Of Bach", which was followed by "In The Name Of Mozart". Forget enjoying Beethoven's pieces only on violin or keyboard, this CD is all guitar. This time Alex has taken on the challenge of performing the music of Ludwig Van Beethoven on a Manne Semiacustica Guitar and a Manne Taos Electric Guitar. On the Romance For Violin No. 2 (track 3), Masi is joined by the Karlsbad String Academy (conducted by Anton Janecek) and is the one track featuring a heavy electric guitar sound. The result once again: another remarkable, must-have guitar album unlike anything else out there. No drums or percussion -- In The Name Of Beethoven is Masi's all guitar tribute to these masterworks.
