A unique collection of gorgeous romantic melodies from the ancient Celtic nations of Wales, Ireland and Scotland, played on the piano by Welsh composer Michael J Lewis. Michael J Lewis was born in Aberystwyth, Wales. He was choir boy at the age of six and church organist aged ten. Subsequently studied harmony, counterpoint and composition at the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama in London. He won England's premier music award, the Ivor Novello, for his first film score - 'The Madwoman of Chaillot' - starring Katherine Hepburn, directed by Bryan Forbes. Further film credits include 'Julius Caesar' with Charlton Heston, 'Theatre of Blood' with Vincent Price, 'The Medusa Touch' with Richard Burton, 'Ffoulkes' with Roger Moore, 'Rose and the Jackal' with Chrsitopher Reeve and the Emmy award-winning score for the animated film, 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe' -to name a few. Lewis' score for the Broadway production, 'Cyrano', won its star Christopher Plummer, the Tony award. Lewis and his co-author Anthony Burgess won a Grammy nomination for the musical's score. He has been a recipient of the ASCAP special award for the last three years.
Formed his own record label Pen Dinas Productions in 1994 and founded the Welsh Choir of Southern California in 1998. Pen Dinas Productions is currently producing its eleventh CD.
