THIS RECORD IS RAW FOLKS!!! ONE MICROPHONE AND A LIVE BAND.

Dirty Larry and the Muddy Maidens are a new "Rockin Country Bluesabilly" band from Alberta, Canada. Formed in October 2003, the band rips up some original, never been heard before mega tunes at hall parties, bars, open stages and talent contests. They are proud to have once been banned from playing at a local open stage, only to be welcomed back 3 weeks later due to pressure from Edmonton's local musicians.

I'd like everyone to reacquaint themselves with Dirty Larry A.K.A. Larry Lever formerly of Three Times the Blues. After 12 years away from the music business, he has returned to the scene armed with a full original show supported by the Muddy Maidens, Trish Lee on Bass, and Kathy or Maria on Drums.

Larry has been performing since he was eleven years old. Throughout adolescence he was involved in drama and music. He is an entertaining singer, and can play drums, guitar, harmonica, and rubboard. In 1988, Larry formed Three Times the Blues and recorded the album "3XTB". The album was nominated by the Alberta Recording Industry Association in 1990 for "Best Blues/Roots Album" and the band in 1991 for "Best Blues/Roots Band". While enjoying the success of the band, Larry was discovered by director Francis Damberger and cast in"Solitaire", his first movie role. Three Times the Blues disbanded in 1993 and in 1995, Larry played part-time in The Oil City Sheiks.

For those of you who don't remember Larry Lever, one of his biggest influences is Muddy Waters and that's why the maidens had to get muddy. Since our humble beginnings out at Ketchamoot Creek, the band has coined two key phrases.
1. The first is "Maiden"; they refer to those mega songster starlets like Aretha Franklin and Etta James as "Divas" well that doesn't quite fit for girls who prefer to fade into the background with instruments. So what do you call women who don't sing a lot but are talented musically, we decided female musician was too politically correct for our band so we proudly decided to be maidens.
2. The second phrase is "Rockin' Country Bluesabilly"; this phrase describes the music we play and write, were not sure exactly what it means, but we know that it isn't exactly blues but it sure does rock. Oh and if you haven't figured it out, were all from the country now.
Hope to see you here or there, were gonna party hardy and shake it all night long so come on down.
