Steven "Blue Shoe" Shoemaker from Kansas City has been playing professionally in the USA and Europe since the 1970's. Whether he's blowing harp and singing his own compositions with the Blue Shoe Sole Revue, playing trombone with King Alex and the Untouchables or leading the horn section at various recording sessions, "Blue Shoe" has got the blues goin' on.
Shoemaker has performed side by side with many blues legends such as Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, Luther Allison, Albert Collins, Bo Diddley and Charlie Musselwhite. As a leader or sideman, he has appeared on more than thirty recordings.
On his CD "I Want A German Woman", Shoemaker pulls out all the stops on the title track as well as on his other originals: "Blues'd Up", "Set Me Off" and Have Your Fun". Washboard Chaz Leary, recording veteran of more than fifty CD's, contributes strong vocals on four songs including his own "I Want A Gun And A Drink". "Blue Shoe" combines tongue-in-cheek lyrics and full arrangements using nineteen musicians.
