Born and raised in the Crescent City, when Eddie Zip sings and performs his unique style of New Orleans music, you can at times close your eyes and be transported to the joy and celebration of Carnival - the Mardi Gras lives everytime he plays.
Eddie is filled with music spirit of that city where Gumbo, Voodoo and the smell of Magnolias in bloom all come together to create the first true American art form, Jazz, and its children - R&B, Soul, Rock and Gospel.
Very early in his career, Zip was offered a gig (along with Jerry Jumonville) to go on the road with James Brown. Mr. Brown said it would be a first (meaning integrated pop band). Zip was honored but instead went to Hollywood where he worked in TV, Movies and Videos. He also worked with greats like Stevie Wonder, Jackie Wilson, Sly Stone, Bille Preston, Allen Toussaint and Bobbie Womack to name a few.
Eddie Zip plays real authentic New Orleans piano. His tamborine playing makes it sound like a parade and you find yourself wanting to jump up and join in the celebration. Most of all E.Z. is a music man, one of a kind American gem. With Eddie, there's always a Carnival in town.
