At the young age of 6 years old, while watching T. V., Aubrey was inspired by the saxophonist who played in the Bill Doddett's band. This exposure led to his learning to play the tenor saxophone by studying the playing styles of such saxophone greats like Hank Crawford, Junior Walker, King Curtis, John Coltrane, Grover Washington,Jr., Cannonball Adderly, Arnett Cobb, Grady Gains,and Welton Felder to name a few. As a 15 year old teenager, (with permission from his parents), he began to play in night clubs with different bands learning the art of performing music. Born and reared in Houston, Tx. - Home of the great Texas Tenor saxophone sound given to the world by Houston, Texas Tenor saxophone greats like Arnett Cobb, Welton Felder, and Grady Gains - Aubrey developed his big robust sound on the saxophone that dazzles audiences and stimulates emotions that creates the mood with smooth tantalizing sounds. With his CD, "For Lovers Only", Aubrey Dunham through the versatility of his saxophones in smooth jazz stimulates emotions of "love" and the enjoyment of pure listening pleasure.
