Singer and guitarist BOB REID has always known that he wanted to sing the blues. As a first grader he entertained his classmates in Madison, Georgia by singing Jimmy Reed songs. Later, Reid did what seems like the modern soul singer’s obligatory stint in the church choir, but it would be many years before his attention would return to the blues.

There were a few other things Reid had to do first.

Turning his attention to television, Reid enjoyed a groundbreaking career as a broadcast journalist, producer and executive. As a producer, Reid has covered everything from politics to riots. He also managed network news bureaus for NBC, CBS and Fox News. He has interviewed celebrities ranging from Frank Sinatra to Etta James as a director for Entertainment Tonight.

Reid and Berenzy made their collaborative stage debut on January 17, 2000, to a sellout crowd at New York’s famous Blue Note Jazz Club. The quartet featured Charlie Buckland on electric bass and Jim Mussen on drums. Donna Kelly later joined the group on drums.

JOHN BERENZY, a self-taught musician, was born in New York City, where he still resides. After hearing early rhythm and blues on a jukebox in San Antonio, John decided to become a musician. His parents and an aunt, Josphine, encouraged him and sent him to
a Jazz Clinic where, at the age of 12, he studied music improvisation and composition with Attilla Zoller, Alan Dawson, Elvin Jones, Jimmy Garrision, Dave Baker, and Ron Carter.
After a brief stint at Hartford University Art College, John was asked to join up with an early guitar hero, Danny Kalb of Blues Project fame, to record on an anthology album for Columbia Records. This included veteran guitar greats Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Roy Buchanan, Johnny Winter, Santana and Chuck Berry. A watershed experience was a tour of the United States, which also included Eric Burden and the Animals, and Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen.

After four years in and out of Dubway Studios in New York, Reid and Berenzy completed their first album
