Back in the 70's Bernard Purdie played with Steely Dan, B.B. King, Louis Armstrong and the famed "Live At The Fillmore" with Aretha and King Curtis, which made "Memphis Soul Stew" famous, well here, he goes again...

This time with a great new band Purdie's Powerhouse...they cover "From Memphis Soul Stew To Portland Clam Chowder." This funky-bluesy CD deals with food, feel good things, like Jambalaya, A Little Soul Food, Red Beans and Rice, as well as new songs written by bandmembers. Vocals/harmonica by Rob Paparozzi, Linda Hornbuckle vocals, Louis Pain Hammond B3, Thara Memory Trumpet, Renato Caranto Sax, Jay Koder Guitar, and the timekeeper himself, Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, who has over 4000 recordings to his credits. www.bernardpurdie.com Check it out.
