Take the artist Prince, make him a foot taller, white, from the South, add influences like the Rolling Stones, INXS, Yaz, mix in some contemporary artists like Marc Broussard, Dave Matthews and Maroon 5, and you'll start to get an idea of what Beau Hall sounds like.

This funky guitarist/singer started very early. "My dad was a folk singer back in the 60 and early 70's. He would drag us kids out to some of his shows. I would watch him, riveted, and just loved it. He would sit me down and we'd listen to the Stones and old blues artists like Muddy and Hooker, so the hunger for music was in me from a very young age. Add to that my best friend who was the greatest dancer in 3rd grade. We used to go to dance contests, we were on a dance show back in the 80's. So I've got music, and a love for dance music, and the blues stuff, it's all wrapped me into some kind of blues-funk-rock machine."

His newest CD, "UNH!" brings all those influences into play. There's the slow-grind Prince-flavored song, "Can I Get Some Lovin", the romping galluping "Hell and Ecstasy", the straight up Hendrix-style rocker, "Superhot Lady Cop".

"Honest - I love every song on this record. It rocks, it funks, it grinds, there's solid blues guitar solos, holy crap, I love it."
