With an extensive live performance resume including John Lee Hooker and Johnny Shines, Nelson's rejuvenated style steeped in the "post-war" Blues with a semi-modern sound is a true Blues fans delight. Maxwell, who also produced the CD, is on top of the ivories along with "Monster" Mike Welch and Troy Gonyea tasty blues guitar licks. "Flyin' Too High" contains 14 tracks with a mix of Nelson penned originals and not your run of the mill covers. Deep, smoky and sometimes humorous vocals with top shelf harmonica by "Chicago" Bob make this disc a great a must have for any fan of the Blues.
