Blues Calling
This CD is pure solo Chicago Blues Piano, recorded 2005.
It showcases many styles of Barrelhouse Chuck's playing. He pays tribute here to Leroy Carr, Little Brother Mongomery, Sunnyland Slim, Pinetop Perkins, Otis Spann, Detroit Junior and many others.
Chuck's long time friend piano master great Erwin Helfer is playing here with Chuck on a 4 hand Boogie Woogie!
Their are several original copositions...a unique blend of " old school" blues and barrelhouse Boogie Woogie, combining rich vocals and exciting instrumentals.
One of the few blues pianists to have studied under such Legends as Sunnyland Slim, Pinetop Perkins, Detriot Junior, Blind John Davis and Little Brother Mongomery.
"Blues Calling" showcases Chuck's as a solo piano player.
A devotion to Chicago Blues is evident on every track.
